HEY PEI! Do you like going for a nice, light, calm, cool and collected hike through the woods? Our BI-weekly hike is for you. Now happening every second Saturday with a 12 NOON meeting time, come join us and go for a lovely hike through the Beach Grove Nature Trails. We do not have a set route for this BI-weekly hike due to there being so many possible twists and turs for us to go through. We will be keeping it light and relaxing. Let’s embrace nature, the trees giving us our air, the birds chirping as the flock, the fox running along the trail with us, let the sun shine on your skin while you soak in the rays, have the wind blow through your hair, let’s be one with the earth and take in our mental health fix during our hike.
Please come with a water bottle, proper hiking attire and of course proper footwear. The trails are pretty easy going, at least a pair of good runners, maybe a pair of hiking boots if you’re highly experienced. Questions? Contact Devon at devon@peersalliance.ca.
Weekly Running Group: Saturdays, 9:00AM, meeting at the PEERS Alliance Office
PEERS Alliance now brings you a weekly Saturday morning run, rain or shine (but just keep an eye on socials in case of a treacherous thunderstorm the morning of). If it’s a sunny day dress lightly and wear lots of sunscreen, if it’s a cool and cloudy day, dress in layers and make sure your ears are warm! Make sure you wear proper running clothes and of course a good pair of running shoes so you don’t get sore feet! The last thing we want is your little piggly wiggles getting blisters!
We will be meeting every Saturday morning at our main office at 9:00AM with a departure at around 9:15AM. Our main office is located at 250B Queen St. in Charlottetown. We will do some stretches to loosen up our muscular muscles and then take off for our journey.
Run Route: For our weekly run we start by heading down Queen St followed by a right onto Fitzroy St. At the bottom of Fitzroy, we run across the small boardwalk and turn left onto Brighton. It’s a long straight stretch to the end of Brighton and from there we have the enjoyment of running along the entire Victoria Park boardwalk (of course with a tiny rest and photo break on the dock). The end of the boardwalk turns into Kent St where we then turn right back on Queen and go all the way down to the water to feel a nice cool breeze. After that we head back up Queen and return to our head office. Knowing our route ensures if you’re late, you can catch up!
